Diabetes Education Classes

Our diabetes educators can help you take control of diabetes. They offer many personalized programs focused on special education needs.

A provider's order is required for these classes. Talk to your provider directly or one of our diabetes educators can help determine the best class for you and obtain an order from your provider.

Comprehensive Diabetes Education

This is a series of highly interactive education programs. Topics include carbohydrates and meal planning, controlling low and high blood sugar levels, medication information, foot care, dealing with stress, traveling with diabetes and avoiding complications.

Medical Nutrition Therapy

Special education focusing on carbohydrate counting, weight management, lipid control and meal planning.

Participation:

Participation is dependent on provider referral. Each patient's provider receives monthly progress reports. Providers are also informed any time a change in condition is noted.

Insurance Coverage

Most major insurance companies, as well as Medicare and Medicaid, cover all or part of the cost for participants who qualify. Because all policies vary, patients are encouraged to check with their insurance company for specific coverage.
